Celebrity anti-aging secrets revealed

Demi Moore, 48, gets better with every birthday. Helen Mirren, 66, won “Best Body” in an L.A. Fitness poll. And 71-year-old Raquel Welch is like a freak of nature– the gorgeous woman doesn’t look a day over 40.

celebrity skin care tips

Eternally young celebrities have personal trainers, chefs, plastic surgeons and lots of money. But we can embrace some of their secrets to improve our own aging process and start looking younger today:

1Get your glow on

Fake it. A-list celebrities are forever boasting Golden Coast tans yet never seem to suffer the sun's damaging effects. The secret, of course, is that their gorgeous bronze comes not from the beaches of Malibu but rather from a spray gun.

Lighten up. A good tan can make you look thinner and healthier, but it's not for everyone. Stars such as Anne Hathaway and Ashley Greene have beautifully reminded us that porcelain skin is glamorous skin. They wear their creamy complexions proudly and stand out among the others.

Protect yourself. Whether a celebrity chooses to go gold or ivory, underneath it all she protects her skin from the dangerous rays of the sun. Celebs bare more skin than most of us– in formal gowns and on the big screen, and work to keep all of it as young-looking as possible. Remember to protect not just your face, but also your neck, chest, hands and other areas that can give away your real age.

2Start a hair trend

Farrah Fawcett had the most coveted hairstyle of the 1970s. Later, Jennifer Aniston started a huge trend with her Rachel haircut. She was followed by Victoria Beckham and the choppy, face-framing bob. Women around the world ran to beauty salons to get the look.

But face it: we all look different and that's what keeps things interesting. Unless you have the same features as your favorite star, it's probably not a good idea to copy her hairstyle.

Instead, sit down with your hairstylist and talk it through. Show the stylist what you like about different celebrity hairstyles and then discuss the shape of your face, the texture of your hair and the daily hair routine you can commit to. When you find the best hairstyle FOR YOU, it'll look so good that your friends will sneak off to their stylists to copy you.

3Stand up and slim down

Did you know there was such a thing as red carpet posture? Celebrities know which poses and angles look best in front of the camera– and it starts with good posture. Not only does a strong, healthy posture show off your confidence, it also makes you look taller and thinner.

As we age, we lose some of the core muscle and bone strength that keeps us nice and aligned. Unless we continue to work at it– Pilates build up your core and a calcium supplements build up your bones– we'll become hunched over as well.

Look younger instantly by becoming conscious of the way you walk, stand and sit. Practice holding in your stomach while you pump gas. Keep your shoulder blades pulled back as you work at the computer. And resist wearing your shoulders as earrings– a long neck is a proud neck.

Simple bun hairstyles for busy mornings

$

Some busy mornings, you have neither the time nor the energy to fuss with your hair. The solution: A bun. Buns come in all shapes and sizes, but most are created with the same basic steps.

Hilary Duff with bun hairstyle

Step 1: Decide on a part

A bun works well with just about any part, or even none at all. If you want to wear a part, then brush your hair away from the part until it's smooth and free of tangles. If you choose a bun with no part, simply brush your hair straight back from your face.

Step 2: Make a high, low or side ponytail

The cool thing about the bun is that you can plant it anywhere on your head. Try a ballet bun at the top of your head, a classic bun at the nape of your neck or a trendy side bun close to your ear. Gather hair into a ponytail at your desired bun location.

Step 3: Get it together

This step is the secret to a good bun. Whether long or short, your hair has to stay together to create the actual bun in the next step.

  • For hair that is straight, layered and/or fine: Braid the ponytail and secure with a thin ponytail band as close to the end as possible.
  • For hair that is one length, curly and/or thick: Create two or three new ponytails from the base of the original ponytail, and finish with a thin ponytail band at the base of each.

Step 4: Pin it in place

This is the actual bun-making step. Holding the ponytail bands at the ends of your hair, wrap the hair around the original ponytail holder, pinning as you go around. Continue in this fashion until you've pinned all the hair into place.

Step 5: Make it your own

Customize your bun with a pencil. Use it to release a few strands from the front to create a face-framing fringe or gently pull out little loops from the bun to give a trendy, messy appearance. Add jewels, flowers or anything else that might give your bun a little bit of interest. Spritz with hairspray, and you're ready to go.

Welcome to Celeb Hairstyle of the Week, where we'll share our fave celeb hair looks each Friday! Up this week? The gorgeous Olivia Wilde.

Ok, we have to admit it: We were getting a little sick of Olivia Wilde's hair. Sure, she's one of the hottest young stars in the industry, and sure, she had an amazing head of hair, but we were looking for something more from the In Time actress.

7 Celebs who dyed their hair after a breakup

Scarlett Johansson famously went brown, then red after her breakup with Ryan Reynolds. Katy Perry, Rihanna and other celebrities brazenly hit the dye bottle when romance went south.

So what's hair dye got to do with relationship recovery? Maybe something. Maybe nothing at all. But it seems to happen when celebrities are back on the market. Though her marriage to Ryan Reynolds was brief, Scarlett Johansson hit all the classic hair colors on the relationship recovery trail.

Scarlett Johansson's changing hair colors

Katy Perry decided on blue for her post-divorce announcement appearance. And while her hair was blue, Katy definitely wasn't. According to all accounts, Katy was happy and looking ahead to the future shortly after news of her split from husband Russell Brand went viral.

Katy Perry's hair transformation

And when Nicki Minaj split with hype guru SB, she also split from her very, very black hair. .

Celebrities seem to use hair color to shake things up on the outside when they're reassembling on the inside post breakup.

Rihanna went from black and buzzed to a lighter, curly hair look in 2010 after her apocalyptic split from Chris Brown in 2009. She kept that look -- though straightened it -- for her historical post breakup interview with Diane Sawyer.

Rihanna's hair color change

When Lily Allen split from her boyfriend Seb Chew she chose pink as her new recovery color.

Notebook honey Rachel McAdams went all pink with her breakup from Ryan Gosling. And while they reunited again a year later, her hair took a brief detour at brown before making it back to her own lighter shade. She has never looked better.

Rachel McAdams hair

And while Lady Gaga has a knack for hair color, she actually seemed to be mourning her breakup with boyfriend Luc Carl with a solid black hairdo.

Do you think it was on purpose?

Blonde bombshell

When she first caught our attention as Izzie Stevens on Grey's Anatomy in 2005, Katherine Heigl was sporting long blonde locks. The actress kept her hair that way for quite some time, and has since switched between sunny strands and dark 'dos several times.

Heigl has proven that she loves to chop her locks for a change. The blonde beauty sported this curled and cropped hairstyle at the 7th Annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball in 2008 and looked like old Hollywood glamour with her pretty pearls and shiny strands.

Katherine knows how to skirt between the extremes of dark and light hair, and she did so here at the U.K. film premiere of her film The Ugly Truth in 2009. We're glad she didn't keep this hair color, though, since it doesn't do much for her. We prefer our fave funny gal as a blonde, thank you!

Miley Cyrus Short Hairstyle

Short and sweet

Welcome to Celeb Hairstyle of the Week, where we'll share our fave celeb hair looks each Friday! Up this week? Miley Cyrus' new, mature cut!

It's no secret that Miley has been through her fair share of highs and lows -- professionally, personally and fashion-wise -- in the past few years. But it seems like the teen star is finally growing up -- at least style-wise. We recently raved about the singer/actress' People's Choice Awards dress and makeup and have noticed that Miss Miley has been making a true effort to clean up her look a bit.

Just this week, Miley stepped it up a notch and cut her famously long locks! The star tweeted about her "hurrrr cut" a few days ago, and told her fans: "I didn't do anything too crazy. But I did take 5 inches off!"

The short haircut is a bit of a change for the pop sensation, who's been sporting long, thick locks for several years, but Miley is certainly no stranger to hair switch-ups! The star has swapped between stick-straight locks during her Hannah Montana days to long, wavy locks of varying shades, and even some pretty dirty looking 'dos.

We're happy Miley went a bit shorter this time around because to be honest, her hair has been looking a bit ragged lately. Her new look is mature, age-appropriate and fun, and we're loving the nice sunny shade she's been sporting!

We're loving Miley's cute short haircut! How about you? Sound off in the comments! And check out other celebrity hairstyles!

Nick Carter gets the world's most ridiculous haircut

$

Nick Carter debuted a new 'do during his birthday weekend in Las Vegas. We definitely won't be saying "I Want It That Way" about it anytime soon.

Nick Carter gets a new haircutThere was a period of time — let's say 1996 to 2002 — when we were truly, madly and deeply in love with the Backstreet Boys. Well, mostly Nick Carter. The baby of the BsB had those gorgeous blonde locks and sun-kissed Florida smile that made all of us preteen girls giggle.

This deep-seeded love stuck with us through Carter's various weight fluctuations and problems with drugs and alcohol. However, he did something over the weekend that is unforgiveable in our eyes: He debuted a new Justin Bieber-esque haircut during his 32nd birthday party at Vanity Nightclub in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

Doesn't it just make your eyes bleed?

We started to wonder what he was doing when he live-tweeted his hair appointment late last week.

Howie D takes a Backstreet break with solo debut >>

"I'm at the hair salon and my head is on freaking fire!!" Carter wrote on Jan. 25. "All the damn bleach is making me go crazy."

Maybe that's to blame for this monstrosity of a haircut?

Okay, we kid: Carter has really turned his life around after he was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy in 2008 after hardcore partying with cocaine and alcohol.

Kevin Richardson is crawling back to the Backstreet Boys>>

"I went out and just went nuts," Carter told People in 2009. "I drank so much and I did a bunch of blow. I felt like I was trying to kill myself — because I didn't want to get the results."

He was right to worry about his life -- both Andy Gibb and Chris Penn died from cardiomyopathy.

The NKOTBSB singer got his act together and is now in the best shape of his life. Still, that haircut looks wrong, wrong, wrong.

He must be feeling the hate, because he wrote about it on Twitter.

"If you don't have anything nice to say then don't feel the need to say anything at all. I am happy, healthy and in love..."

We're happy for you Nick, just change the hair back!

Thank Jesus! Ashton Kutcher gives up homeless look

Love Ashton Kutcher's new shaved and shorn look? The Two and a Half Men star says there's a bit of divine intervention to thank!

Ashton Kutcher

Ashton Kutcher's long hair is no more! After years of rocking facial scruff and long locks the actor is clean-cut yet again.

Ashton Kutcher explained his new look while talking with the press at a PaleyFest panel in Los Angeles on Monday, joking, "Jesus wanted [his look] back so I gave it to him."

Humor aside, the new short hair and clean-shaven face is actually by request of the Two and a Half Men writers. It seems character Walden Schmidt's transformation, who Ashton Kutcher began playing after Charlie Sheen's dramatic departure from the show, means the actor gets a real life makeover as well.

Charlie Sheen: My bad, Ashton>>

"We wanted to tell a story about being in a relationship and being pressured to change," show creator Chuck Lorre said of Walden’s budding relationship with Zoey, played by Sophie Winkleman. "Walden pushed back and said, 'You can’t change me. This is who I am.' But once she stopped trying he got a haircut and changed."

Poor Demi: Ashton Kutcher's dating Lorene Scafaria>>

Still, Ashton Kutcher isn't exactly thrilled with being forced to clean up. "I actually was enjoying looking homeless,"People reports he joked.

Not one to be left out of the humor, Two and a Half Men costar Jon Cryer chimed in, "People just gave him quarters."

"I'm sure there will be people now that I've cut my hair and shaved my beard that want me to have long hair and a beard," 34-year-old Kutcher commented of not being able to please all the people all the time in January. "And there were people that when I had a beard and long hair that wanted me to be shaved and have a haircut."

Do you prefer Ashton Kutcher's clean-shaven or homeless look?

We constantly find ourselves obsessing over stunning Jennifer Hudson’s long, dark hair. How does she create and maintain that luscious mane? We consult celebrity hairstylist Andre Walker to get the inside scoop on how to get this Dreamgirl’s luscious locks. Plus, we show you how to steal one of our favorite J.Hud’s red carpet looks!

How to achieve the dark wavy style

  1. Note: If you’re looking to create a larger wave, use an extra-large curling iron and/or large Velcro rollers, take 2-inch sections, curl the sections with your iron and then set it on a roller and secure.
Use a great shampoo and conditioning treatment, like the Andre Walker Keratin Shampoo and TKO Deep Conditioner for beautiful shine and manageability.
  2. Cut long layers, making the hair appear lighter and fuller. Tip: A razor or thinning sheers is best to take away some of the bluntness of the ends, creating a softer finish.
  3. Just before blow drying, add a touch of oil and a styling cream like Optimum Care Heat Protection Polisher, and blow dry with a round brush for smoothing and volume. After drying, take 1-inch sections and spray with a light holding spray.
  4. Use a medium sized curling iron, start at the base of the section and wrap the section of hair all the way to the end and release the iron.
  5. Hold the section of hair in your hand, lifting until it cools off to set the perfect wave.

How to steal her red carpet look

We love how Jennifer lights up the red carpet in this electric yellow dress. Adding a bold dress will instantly grab attention… something this diva knows oh too well. Add neutral accessories and you will be ready for any show-stopping summer soiree.

Gabby Douglas has a fabulous new hairstyle thanks to celebrity stylist Ted Gibson. Fans wonder: Is Douglas bowing to pressure from critics?

Gabby Douglas gets new hair thanks to Ted Gibson

Was Gabby Douglas listening to all those critics of her hair? Maybe. Douglas showed off her new, glamorous makeover on Wednesday night, complete with long hair extensions and false eyelashes. Gabby kept it age-appropriate though with a beautiful rose-colored top.

Gabby Douglas is America's latest sweetheart thanks to her amazing gold-medal performances at the 2012 Summer Games. Douglas took home two gold medals for the Unites States in the women's gymnastics' individual all-around competition and the team all-around competition.

Gabby Douglas charms the First Lady and Jay Leno>>

Us Weekly reports celebrity hair stylist Ted Gibson gave Gabby Douglas her amazing new locks. And while Gibson was honored to help Gabby out with her hair, he was not happy with the recent criticism she faced. Gibson spoke to The Daily Beast about the disrespectful comments. "I couldn't believe it and still can't" said Ted. "You have this young girl doing amazing things, and the conversation becomes about her hair? It was ridiculous and shameful." We couldn't agree more.

Gabby Douglas' mom: Shut up about my daughter's hair>>

Gibson said Gabby's PR team reached out to him directly, although he doesn't usually work with teenagers or children -- with exceptions for Angelina Jolie's kids -- Gibson said he still wanted to create a look that would make her feel beautiful.

"It's tricky because Gabby is 16 and I don't want to do anything to make her look 25 years old," he said. "Together with her vision, I hope we can create something that's easy and looks great no matter what she's doing or where she is. I hope to create something that makes her feel good about herself as well. That's so important and a big part of what I do for all the women I work with."

Lady Gaga's hair goes "Louis Vuitton brown"

$

0
Lady Gaga is making some changes in her life in preparation for her upcoming album ARTPOP. First up: A new hair color — with dyed eyebrows to match!

Lady Gaga dyes her hair brown

Believe it or not, Lady Gaga is naturally a brunette — she's Italian, after all. However, she's spent much of the past five years or so wearing her hair in every color but her natural one.

Until now: Mother Monster opted to go back to brown hair for a while. She doesn't consider the color to be any ol' brown, though.

Lady Gaga shut out of VMAs >>

"Definitely feeling less blond lately and little more progressive brunette," the 25-year-old singer tweeted after making the switch. "I am LOUIS VUITTON BROWN. B***H THATS LV."

Um, OK.

As for those who prefer her as a blonde? There's something for you, too.

"Im gonna leave one streak of bad by my left ear," she tweeted, referring to a streak of blond locks. "Lady when its down, and Gaga when its up. could we belong together?"

Unlikely allies: Lady Gaga comes to KStew's defense >>

Gaga has another new accessory she's been carrying around everywhere: her poodle, Fozzi.

"Gaga is totally obsessed with Fozzi. She's been treating him like he's her baby," a source told the U.K. Sun. "She's been taking him to bed — and even into the bath with her."

It's not that weird — we sleep with our dogs, too. He's even getting the five-star treatment on the road.

"She's instructed for special versions of her own meals for Fozzi," a source added. "They are given to him in his personalized gold and diamante bowl."

Still, keeping the little dog around at all times hasn't endeared her to PETA — the organization blasted her last week for being a "turncoat."

"Many of your gay fans, myself among them, have long admired what you told Ellen [DeGeneres]: 'I hate fur and I don't wear fur,'" the organization's vice president, Dan Matthews, wrote in an open letter to the singer about a fur coat she's been photographed wearing, adding that it appears "that you have amnesia... What happened? Are your stylists telling you that it's fake, or are you a turncoat?"

Lady Gaga adds fuel to fire with Twitter response to PETA >>

Gaga hasn't backed down, though.

"I am choosing not to comment on whether or not the furs I purchase are faux fur-pile or real because I would think it hypocritical not to acknowledge the python, ostrich, cow hide, leather, lamb, alligator, 'kermit' and not to mention meat, that I have already worn,"she wrote to her fans in a blog post. "This should already put me in a category as one who appreciates and adores the beauty of animals in fashion, but am not a strict vegan."

When it comes to looking great, celebrities have it easy. They have a team of makeup artists and hair stylists making sure they always look their best. Hair to adore

When it comes to looking great, celebrities have it easy. They have a team of makeup artists and hair stylists making sure they always look their best. For the rest of us, it’s not so easy, but luckily those celebrities give us inspiration to give new styles our very best effort. Here are six amazing women who always have rockin’ hair that inspires us.

Mila Kunis

Kunis might not be experimental with her hair, but it always looks healthy and glowing. The stunning brunette always has a gorgeous updo or flowing beach curls that pair well with her striking face. Her hairstyles are the epitome of style and taste without venturing into the realm of tacky.

Olivia Palermo

This stunning socialite is always at the height of fashion, and her hair is surprisingly low key. Shoulder-length, healthy and a gorgeous shade of chestnut brown, Palermo’s locks are molded into fashion-forward updos and chic hairstyles. Her specialty is a low bun hairstyle with wispy strands, but for Palermo, the hair makes the outfit. She always works the style that seems to fit best with what she’s wearing.

Katy Perry

Her style might be a little wacky, but you have to commend Perry for trying out the styles that the rest of us are too wimpy to attempt. Whether it’s her trademark black or a funky shade of blue, pink or purple, the pop songstress knows how to go all-out when it comes to hair. Plus, she manages to keep the texture of her hair healthy and shiny, despite all of the damage that comes its way.

Jennifer Aniston

Many have mocked the superstar for having the same trademark "Rachel" haircut since her Friends days, but the actress has morphed into a hairstyle icon since she chopped her locks up to her shoulders. Her hair is always healthy and glowing, and really -- that’s the foundation of gorgeous hair.

Rihanna

Rihanna has the face that can pull off just about any hairstyle, and she knows it! From the long, curled tresses of her earlier days to the edgy, funky styles she rocks today, Rihanna isn’t afraid to go a little wild. And for that, we respect her.

Kim Kardashian

Hello, bombshell! Kim Kardashian knows how to bring on the sex appeal with her long black hair -- which occasionally turns blonde or red. Her best known style, though, is the envy of women everywhere with its soft, pretty curls and thick lustrous shine.

We were finally just getting used to Miley Cyrus' short hair when Rihanna showed up on the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards red carpet sans her variety of hair extensions. The Barbados-born singer looked fresh and simple in her simply while gown and simple brown strands.

Cyrus, on the other hand, decided to go two-toned with her cleavage-baring dress and bleach blonde strands. She looks a lot like Pink, don't you think?

As for Rihanna, we fully expect to see her in a different hairstyle come next week. Her hairstylist, Ursula Stephen, said Rihanna's hair preferences change from day to day.

"We are always changing it up, experimenting, and having fun with hair. That's what I love to do! Her hairstyle typically changes depending on what's on our agenda, what she's wearing, or how she's feeling," Stephen told BellaSugar last year.

"We take it day by day and event by event, and usually will both bring ideas to the table. It's always a collaboration, which is such a great way to work. It's all about the products that we use to maintain moisture in between all the styling. If we're going heavy with color, we'll lay off the chemical treatments; if her hair needs a break, we'll try a wig or weave. It's all about knowing and understanding the client's hair and reacting to it as you go along."

We're going to give RiRi our pick for best short hairstyle of the night .

After you’ve spent hours perfecting your hairstyle, the last thing you want is for it to fall out of place at the first sight of a humid room or a gust of wind. Celebrities know the trick to keeping their hair exactly where they want it. Make sure you always look red carpet-ready with these tips to help avoid a hairdo meltdown.

Spray, then curl

If you’re curling your natural hair with no product, the odds that the curl will stick are slim. Increase your chances of a day-long look by simply spraying each section of hair with hairspray before applying the heat of a curling iron. Make sure you spray the hair a good distance away -- you don’t want the sections to be soaking with hairspray. We’re going for curly, not crunchy. Once you hold the curling iron in place for your desired amount of time, move on to the next section. Once your entire head of hair is curled, you can then lightly brush the sections individually for a more natural look.

When in doubt, use bobby pins

Now that you have your desired style, full of volume, shine and curl, make sure it stays in place with bobby pins. This might sound like simple advice for an updo, but you can keep other hairstyles voluminous with these little metal wonders. You might think your hairstyle is complete, but hair takes a bit to set itself into the style for the day. If you know you want your hair swept away from your face, place a few bobby pins pinning it back temporarily, then make your morning drive. By the time you get to work, your hair will be trained to be pushed back for the rest of the day. Work the hallway like your red carpet!

Mousse it up

Using mousse before blow drying your hair is a great way to get all the hold of a curl without the stiffness. Simply apply to the roots for lift, then to the sections you want to keep in place. Blow dry and brush thoroughly to ensure no “crunchy” sections are left behind. Then, curl and use hairspray as usual. This way, you have a little extra weapon on your side to get you through those humid and hot days.

Get a cut designed for your style

If you’ve tried everything to keep your hair in place and nothing is working, head to the hairstylist and tell him the look you want to achieve. It might be that your current cut is too heavy to support loose, beachy curls, or perhaps you’re using too heavy a conditioner. Layers can help lighten your style, allowing for gorgeous curls to come through.

No hairstyle is more classic than an updo. After all, it keeps your hair out of the way while showcasing your lovely facial femininity. Hollywood knows this best. Take a cue from the A-listers, and show off your Hollywood face with these simple updos that anyone can do -- even without a celebrity hairstylist.

A simple low bun

A simple low bun

Talk about timeless! This hairstyle is the epitome of classiness, bringing back images of Audrey Hepburn and other Old Hollywood staples. Simply gather all of your hair at the base of your head and twist it to the tip. Then, slowly roll it to create the bun. Secure with bobby pins and go! For a more effortless look, let a few strands dangle in front, then curl them ever-so-slightly.

The high pony

The high pony

A little bit cheerleader, a little high fashion, this truly simple style is easy to create and to rock down the red carpet... or to your local gym. Start by gathering all of your hair, slowly working it to the crown of your head. Smoothing any bumps, secure with an elastic. For a classed-up version, take a few strands of hair from the ponytail and wrap it around the elastic. Wear with your favorite little black dress, or simply with jeans and a T-shirt. It’s a style that can work with any outfit anytime.

The braided crown

The braided crown

This bohemian-meets-royalty style has become popular with celebrities in recent months, and it’s surprisingly easy to get! Simply section one side of the front of your hair in preparation for a braid. Start to braid toward the other side of your head, slowly bringing in new strands of hair as you go to secure the style. Once you get to the other side, secure with a clear elastic, and then tuck the tip back behind your ear with a bobby pin. Pin the rest of your hair back into a twisted, curled updo and voila! You look like Renaissance royalty... or just a modern celebrity.

The messy side bun

The messy side bun

This twist on the classic bun hairstyle is a little more playful, yet still upscale enough for a red carpet event. Start by adding a few messy waves in your hair with a flat iron or curling iron. Mess them up slightly with your fingers, then pull all of your hair to the desired side of your head, wrap your hair and secure with an elastic band. Pull a few strands of hair down to frame your face, and then pull slightly at the roots to make the look appear “loose.” Add in a couple bobby pins to secure the bun.

Lady Gaga shaves her head for Terry Richardson

Lady Gaga is total besties with creepy photographer Terry Richardson, so it only makes sense that she'd do something special to commemorate his recently departed mother.

And that special something? She shaved her head in the back.

Lady Gaga's hair goes "Louis Vuitton brown" >>

"I did it for u Terry. I'm sorry about ure [sic] mommy. She has princess die, but were all princess high,"Gaga tweeted on Tuesday night.

Richardson's mother passed away on Tuesday night at 74. No cause of death was released, but naturally he's upset. Luckily, he has Gaga's support — the two became close after he was commissioned to follow her for their coffee table book, Lady Gaga x Terry Richardson.

Is Lady Gaga fur real? PETA's hatching an attack plan >>

"Terry was with me for [almost] a whole year, and, gosh, I didn't hold anything back from Terry ... he was with me every minute, every moment," she told MTV News. "It's completely unfiltered. He has photographs of me waking up in the morning, brushing my teeth, in the bathroom, in the bathtub, the shower. And the thing about Terry, if you know anything about his photography, is that nothing is staged; I mean, that's sort of what he is renowned for. He can get you to do things and he can capture things that no one can ever capture."

The "Born This Way" singer isn't the only person to shave off her strands: Country singer Kellie Pickler shaved off all of her hair to support her best friend's fight with cancer. The new shorn 'do has inspired a Halloween costume for 2012.

"Thinking about being G.I. Jane for Halloween. ;),"Pickler tweeted after the 'do debut in early September.

Pink wants the haters to shut up about Miley Cyrus' hair 'cause she loves it -- and no, she doesn't think Miley copied her.

Pink loves Miley Cyrus' hair

Some Hollywood starlets might balk when another celeb "copies" their look, but not singer Pink. The singer — on the promotion trail for her new album The Truth About Love— told the Today show that she likes Miley's new, shorn 'do.

"Everyone has long, brown hair," Pink said. "When two girls get fearless and shave their heads, it’s a big deal. I think we’re just a little more daring."

Pink: Overdose survivor, proud "F*** You" fund owner >>

Cyrus dyed her brown hair platinum blonde in August and then had it cut into a short asymmetrical style a few days later. The look drew comparisons to Pink's longtime hairstyle, though the talk really picked up when the pair wore almost identical hairstyles at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards.

"I think she’s beautiful," she said, adding that she doesn't think Cyrus "stole" her look. "I think she rocks it way harder than I do."

Pink slams paparazzi for stalking baby Willow >>

We're sure Cyrus is glad to have a famous face in her corner, especially since some fans have expressed their dissatisfaction over her choice of 'do.

"Hahahahahahahahahahah. Miley Cyrus looks like she has a dead rat on her head. Death by bleaching, too," one fan tweeted.

"In case you missed it, Miley Cyrus butchered her hair this weekend so at least you're probably having a better Monday than her!" another wrote.

We're not the only ones who hated Ben Affleck's Argo hair

Ben Affleck's shaggy hair was an awful monstrosity, according to his family.

Ben Affleck hated his shaggy hair too

Ben Affleck horrified us last year when he showed up in public with a Justin Bieber-esque shaggy 'do. Now we know it was for his upcoming film Argo, but we still don't like it on him.

Turns out we're not the only ones.

"My family unanimously hated the look," he joked during a press conference for the new film. "My dad was like, 'What kind of work would want you to look like that?'"

Ben Affleck and Hillary Clinton are working together >>

However, wife Jennifer Garner and daughters Seraphina and Violet were the ones who really, really hated the look.

"I kept trying to tell my littler kids [that this was for work],"Affleck added. But "they would say, 'Why can't you shave your... prickles? Shave your prickles!'"

He might be joking about the 'do, but the plot in Argo is anything but a laughing matter. In the film, Affleck plays Tony Mendez, a CIA "exfiltration" expert who creates a dangerous plan to smuggle six American hostages out of Iran.

Affleck also directed the movie based on a true story. He told reporters that it was important to be accurate and fair when depicting the Iranian revolution.

Ben & Jen are parents times three >>

"While I didn't want to be didactic or indicate to the audience how they should feel, we did want to factually tell this story and how we had believed our support of the Shah was right in part because of his progressive stand on a lot of issues," he said. "We looked the other way in terms of some of the political repression... some of the literal atrocities that took place."
